Over the past year, to update the housing element in our General Plan, we have been working towards understanding the economic needs for housing in unincorporated Grand County, and what policies may be necessary to meet demand today and at various stages of potential future economic growth. With this goal in mind, the Planning Commission in conjunction with the Planning & Zoning Department will be holding a public workshop to map out the Home Building Journey in order to learn from builders, realtors and developers what the barriers are on the ground to getting housing built for and occupied by local residents. The workshop is tentatively planned for the second week in February 2023 -- stay tuned for updates on place and time.
